The World Celebrates Rabbi Marcia Prager

Rabbi Marcia Prager, an inspirational Jewish Renewal spiritual leader, teacher, guide, and colleague, has become a model for a new generation of lay and professional leadership. Through her, many of us have forged an intimate, passionate relationship with Judaism, with the divine in all of us, and thus, with each other.

The P'nai Or Philadelphia Jewish Renewal community is grateful that in 5772 (2011) R. Marcia celebrated 18 years of serving as our Rabbi-Chaver. In her honor, friends from around the world shared these many stories, poems, and loving tributes, to show our gratitude and naches at this wonderful milestone!

Supporting my dreams

To my dear colleague and friend, Reb Marcia,

My life would not be anywhere the same without you and the blessings you have brought me. I am so grateful! You invited me to join the leadership of the ALEPH Ordination Programs, giving me a hevra beyond imagining.

Dayenu. It would have been enough.

But then you supported my dream of having a team of mashpi'im (spiritual counselors), to support our students in their journey to becoming spiritual leaders.

Dayenu. It would have been enough.

But then you eagerly embraced my desire to begin a training program for Jewish clergy and students to become mashpi'im (spiritual counselors) themselves.

May you delight in all the gifts you have brought to our world, and enjoy good health, joy, and fulfillment for the next chai years and beyond,

With love and appreciation,

Shohama

(Rabbi Shohama Wiener, Rosh Hashpa'ah, ALEPH Ordination Programs)
