The World Celebrates Rabbi Marcia Prager

Rabbi Marcia Prager, an inspirational Jewish Renewal spiritual leader, teacher, guide, and colleague, has become a model for a new generation of lay and professional leadership. Through her, many of us have forged an intimate, passionate relationship with Judaism, with the divine in all of us, and thus, with each other.

The P'nai Or Philadelphia Jewish Renewal community is grateful that in 5772 (2011) R. Marcia celebrated 18 years of serving as our Rabbi-Chaver. In her honor, friends from around the world shared these many stories, poems, and loving tributes, to show our gratitude and naches at this wonderful milestone!

Atmosphere of Acceptance

Coming to P'nai Or has been a delight.  The first service I attended as a member was the Rosh Hashonah after my father died.  I remember your wonderful comments connecting tradition with deep personal meaning .  I got a big kick out of your tape of the crickets.
We love the atmosphere of acceptance of all people, the freedom the davennen leaders have to create a unique service, and the freedom of davenners to participate in their own way.  I treasure your gentle involvement when the listserve gets out of hand.  :-)  I love your colorful and thought-provoking emails!

I don't think any of this would happen in such a special way without you!
Mazal tov on your Chai anniversary at P'nai Or!
Love,
Meira and Gary Itzkowitz
