The World Celebrates Rabbi Marcia Prager

Rabbi Marcia Prager, an inspirational Jewish Renewal spiritual leader, teacher, guide, and colleague, has become a model for a new generation of lay and professional leadership. Through her, many of us have forged an intimate, passionate relationship with Judaism, with the divine in all of us, and thus, with each other.

The P'nai Or Philadelphia Jewish Renewal community is grateful that in 5772 (2011) R. Marcia celebrated 18 years of serving as our Rabbi-Chaver. In her honor, friends from around the world shared these many stories, poems, and loving tributes, to show our gratitude and naches at this wonderful milestone!

Providing Sacred Space that Values Each of Us for Our Gifts

Dear R. Marcia,

"Congratulations," does not begin to say what I feel.
Thank you for your example
Thank you for your guidance
Thank you for your friendship
Thank you for creating sacred space
Thank you for being a great teacher
Thank you for your sense of humor
Thank you for letting me pray in the ways I have needed to pray
Thank you for the friendships I have had as a result of the community you have helped create
Thank you for providing sacred space that heals, educates, informs, embraces creativity and values each of us for the gifts we have.
Thank you for all the things I have not mentioned and deserve reflection.

I was  unable to be with you  on your special weekend (I had planned to be there)
Instead I was at the Bris of my nephew in Boston.
I thought  of you  as I davvened in Boston.

With great affection,

Nicholas Boonin
