I remember a day in Davenning Leaders Training Institute (DLTI) 2 when Reb Marcia took us on a long journey with Avraham right into Gan Eden. It was one of those moments that can never be repeated, but the feeling of it is still easy to call up with the barest thought.
I remember reading The Path of Blessing - it was as if suddenly the Bracha formula not only opened up and revealed its secrets to me, but also taught me to open up Jewish liturgy to others.
I remember volunteering in Reb Marcia's Lifecycle Practicum course to act as the bride when we were learning about weddings. Experiencing Reb Marcia as "my" m'saderet kiddushin, even in a demonstration and not for real, was a very deep learning for me, and I draw on this learning when I guide couples - and their guests - to fully receive and participate in this powerful spiritual transformation.
I remember Reb Marcia's Avinu shebashamayim as a Birkat Hamazon for Shabbos lunch in Albuquerque, which still helps me as an on-call chaplain.
Best of all, I remember that I get to continue to learn from and with Reb Marcia and to honor her teachings by the way I embody them.
